State reports first hypothermia death
State health officials say the winter's first death due to hypothermia has been reported in Frederick County.
The Department of Health and Mental Hygiene said Thursday that a man age 65 or older had died. The death was confirmed between Dec. 18 and Dec. 24.
Officials say no other information will be released on the victim.
Fifteen hypothermia-related deaths occurred in Maryland during the 2011-2012 winter weather season.
