Sinulog Jumps in with Smart
Thousands of people from here and overseas gather yearly every January to honor the Holy Child Jesus, Sto. Nino, in the Sinulog, Cebu's grandest festival and one of the country's biggest, most colorful cultural events.
Sinulog attendees show their devotion to the Holy Child Jesus by participating in the day-long, 5.7-km procession to bring His image to the Basilica del Sto. Nino, culminating in a high mass where devotees sing praises and profess faith and love for Cebu's patron saint.
Sinulog is famous among local and foreign travelers because of the Grand Parade, where contingents from different parts of the country compete as they perform their interpretation of the festival's tradition via street dancing.
With the help of technology, even those who could not be in Cebu at the Sinulog were still able to show their devotion to the Sto. Nino and celebrate with everyone else.
