Compass Raids Bank One for Tucson Chief of Arizona Bank

Arizona Bank, a unit of Compass Bancshares of Birmingham, Ala., has hired Bank One executive Mark Mistler to fill the newly created post of president for its headquarters city, Tucson.
Mr. Mistler was head of commercial lending at Bank One in Tucson. He began his banking career as a management trainee at Valley National Bank in Phoenix and came to Bank One in 1987.
Arizona Bank has $1.3 billion of assets. Compass, which has $17.7 billion, bought it in December.
Summit Bank in Princeton, N.J., has hired Brenda R. Love as a senior vice president and manager of the northern sector -- New Jersey, Connecticut, and New York of its private bank.
She will be based in Summit, N.J. Ms. Love was a private banker at PNC's private banking group in Morristown, N.J., and earlier at Chase's private bank. She has 15 years of private banking experience.
In her new job she succeeded George Littlejohn, who will now manage the professional group within Summit's private bank.
The bank is a subsidiary of $34.2 billion-asset Summit Bancorp.
Bank of the West in San Francisco has hired John M. Grace, Peter Galloway, Linda Mehlam, and Raul Castanada as vice presidents.
Mr. Grace will be a business development officer in the Clearwater, Wash., office. …
