Salvadoran Leader Wants Global Banks to Finance Reconstruction
Salvadoran President Armando Calderon Sol made the following statement to Central American leaders at the opening of their summit in El Salvador that was called to deal with the devastation caused by Hurricane Mitch:
This morning's meeting with the Central American presidents is an important one.
We plan to coordinate our actions, and make a call to the international community, to the multilateral institutions and to other similar organizations to help us with the recovery and reconstruction of Central America.
We are a group of countries that are integrated not just historically, but also commercially. What happens to one country happens to all of us. ā¦
