Water Resources Abstracts On CD-ROM
National Information Services Corporation, a publisher of U.S. Government databases on CD-ROM, has announced the availability of a 200,000 citation database of water research data. Prior to this release, the database was available only online, under the name "Water Resrouces Abstracts." The SWRA database is compiled by the Water Resources Scientific Information Center (WARSIC) of the United States Geological survey (USGS).
The database of over 350 megabytes is a vast, international collection of abstracts about water research from 1967 to the present. Information sources include all the major and significant water-related journals and publications worldwide. The data covers water-related aspects for the life, physical, and social sciences, related engineering and legal aspects of the characteristics, supply condition, conservation, control, use and management of water resources.
