The accomplishments of the Tri-Cities-area's best and brightest students include:

The following students graduated from Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, during the fall 1998/1999 commencement.

Batavia: Joshua P. Cournaya, bachelor of science in education, and Gregory T. Harvey, bachelor of science in business.

Geneva: Nichole A. Cordin, bachelor of arts; Lauren K. Habes, bachelor of science in education; Christopher R. Hilemann, bachelor of arts; Carl S. Tornberg, bachelor of science; and Erik M. Walker, master of arts.

St. Charles: Jason M. Dockter, bachelor of arts, and Amanda L. Wallin, bachelor of science in education.

Angela Bixby, daughter of John and Susan Bixby of St. Charles, graduated from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago May 15 with a Bible theology/Greek emphasis major. Bixby, a 1996 graduate of Aurora Christian School, was granted a bachelor of arts degree. She graduated with highest honors in scholarship and was selected for membership in the Delta Epsilon Chi National Honor Society.

St. Charles: Matthew C. Rogina. of St. Charles qualified for the second-semester 1998-99 dean's list at the College of Arts and Sciences at Loyola University, Chicago.

Geneva: Eric Eberle, a 1994 graduate of Geneva High School, graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in marketing communications from Columbia College in Chicago. While a student at Columbia, he interned as a production assistant on "The Jenny Jones Show."

Christopher B. O'Connell of Geneva received a bachelor of arts from the College of Arts and Sciences, University of Nebraska at Lincoln, during spring 1999 commencement.
