Neil J. Daly
Funeral services for Neil J. Daly, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Lewis Funeral Home, 7600 West Grand Ave. (at the Circle), Elmwood Park, going to St. Cyprian Church for 10:30 a.m. Mass. Interment will be in Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
Mr. Daly was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Hughes Council, and River Grove VFW.
He was the beloved brother of Ann (late James) Raymond and the late William "Bob" (late Mary), John (late Catherine), Edward (late Marita), and Mary (late Jordan) Brock; and fond uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Jerrald L. Daugherty
Funeral services for Jerrald L. Daugherty, 64, a 33-year resident of Palatine, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church, 123 N. Plum Grove Road, Palatine.
Born in Steuben, Wis., Aug. 21, 1932, Mr. Daugherty died at home, March 7, 1997. Burial will be private in Benton P.M. Cemetery, Benton, Wis.
After attending high school in the Panama Canal Zone from 1945 to 1950, Mr. Daugherty served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955, during the Korean War. He obtained his bachelor of science degree from the University of Wisconsin, Platteville in 1957 and went on to Indiana University to get his master's degree in 1963. He was one of several chemistry teachers from around the country chosen by the National Science Foundation for this program. He continued graduate work in chemistry at various colleges and universities including: IIT, Knox, Hope, and Northern Illinois University.
Mr. Daugherty taught and coached football and basketball at both Hanover High School, Hanover, from 1957 to 1959, and at Lancaster High School, Lancaster, Wis. from 1959 to 1961. He taught and coached football at Maine East High School in Park Ridge from 1961 to 1987. He was also active in Maine Teachers' Association.
He was a member of the Palatine Jaycess, an original member of the Y's Men's Club and a participant in the fund-raising efforts for Beuhler YMCA, a member of Indian Guides and Indian Princess programs, Buehler YMCA, coach of a Celtic Soccer team for Palatine Park District for seven years; active member of the First United Methodist Church of Palatine, serving on many boards and committees including Early Childhood and MOD, Education Commission, Administrative Board, and also working with PADS. He was an usher for many years and assisted with the weekly newsletter mailings. He was also a member of Palatine High School VIP's.
Survivors include his wife, Kathryn L. Daugherty of Palatine; his daughters, Jane (Dan) Runkle of Picayune, Miss. and Laura (Todd) McConkey of Geneva; his son, Dan (Amy) of Muncie, Ind.; his grandchildren, Ethan and Paige McConkey and Sarah Kay Runkle; and his brothers Ishmael (Virginia) of Beloit, Wis., Reginald (Mavis) of Beloit, Wis., Dennis (the late Arlene) of Graham, Wash., Vincent (Deanna) of South Beloit, Ill., and Douglas (Connie) Zimmerman of Fort Atkinson, Wis. He was preceded in death by his parents, Laurence and Thelma Daugherty.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Ahlgrim & Sons Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine. He will lie in state at the church from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday.
