Football: NATIONWIDE LEAGUE PREVIEW

BARNSLEY V HUDDERSFIELD

MARTIN BULLOCK should be fit after tweaking a hamstring against Forest on Wednesday. Neil Shipperley hurt a toe but is likely to figure, and Barnsley new boy Lee Crooks is preparing to start training next week after his ligament injury.

Striker Lee Morris, on loan from Derby, makes his Huddersfield debut. Simon Baldry is set to start, but Clyde Wijnhard (broken arm) and Chris Beech (Achilles) are out.

Verdict: Barnsley joy

BOLTON v GILLINGHAM

TOMMY WRIGHT could replace Steve Banks in goal, while Colin Hendry hopes to recover from a thigh strain. The same injury kept Bo Hansen on the bench for Bolton's FA Cup defeat by Blackburn, but he may start.

Gills boss Andy Hessenthaler, Guy Butters and Roland Edge are out with long-term injuries. Mark Saunders is a doubt, Barry Ashby is suspended and Paul Shaw may be absent as his wife is due to give birth.

Verdict: Bolton breeze

GRIMSBY v WOLVES

LENNIE LAWRENCE may turn to fit-again pair Alan Pouton and Bradley Allen after failing to lure Middlesbrough strikers Andy Campbell and Brian Deane on a month's loan. The Grimsby boss may also recall Stacy Coldicott after suspension.

Wolves are without the suspended George Ndah. Robert Taylor and Cedric Rousell compete for the starting slot alongside Adam Proudlock.

Verdict: Honours even

SHEFF UTD v N FOREST

NEW striker Carl Asaba is available after completing his switch from Gillingham, but on-loan frontman Paul Peschisolido (hamstring) is out. Lee Sandford (neck) is a doubt as is Laurent D'Jaffo, who had five stitches after a clash of heads at Crewe in midweek.

Forest boss David Platt is forced to make at least one change as he'll be without American winger Ben Olsen, carried off against Barnsley in midweek with an ankle injury.

Verdict: Forest snatch it

WEST BROM v SHEFF WED

TRANSFER-LISTED West Brom defender Matt Carbon is doubtful with a calf strain. On-loan defender Fernando Derveld is available again after sitting out the midweek victory over Norwich, the club who hold his contract.

Former Liverpool midfielder Steve Harkness returns from a two-game ban to boost struggling Owls in their bid to avoid the drop for a second successive campaign.

Verdict: Albion's day

BIRMINGHAM v CREWE

DELE ADEBOLA, left on the bench since the League Cup Final, is hopeful of a return for City against his old club. …
