No Room at the Top for Tory No-Hopers
The ubiquitous Yvette Cooper has done it again. In two consecutive rounds of our Fantasy Politics game, she has emerged as Prime Minister in the judges' cabinet. Now, in the highest-scoring reader's cabinet of the current round (submitted by Sarah Spain of London SE3), she takes up residence in Downing Street once more, with Ali G as her deputy and Ken Living stone as Chancellor. Like many others, Ms Spain correctly judged, when she chose her team, that none on the current Conservative front bench was likely to score well. The only Tories in her cabinet are those reliable old stagers from the centre of the party, Kenneth Clarke and Michael Heseltine.
Ms Spain's reward is a choice between litre bottles of Plymouth Gin, Longmorn 15-year-old Single Malt and Bulleit Bourbon.
Full scores for all cabinet candidates were published last week. The judges meet to award scores for the eighth and final round on Tuesday 5 June. Prizes will then be awarded, not only to the highest-scoring reader's cabinet in that particular round, but also to the reader whose cabinet has the highest cumulative score over the full game.
