HONORS/AWARDS

-- The Haskell Co. was honored by Florida Institute of Consulting Engineers with an Engineering Excellence "Grand Award" for Sea Walk Performance Pavilion in Jacksonville Beach.

-- The Haskell Co. was honored with an Associated Builders and Contractors national first place "Eagle Award" for Closeout Distribution Inc.'s (now Big Lots Inc.) distribution center in Tremont, Pa., northeast of Harrisburg.

-- Andy Newman, real estate agent for Coldwell Banker Walter Williams Realty Inc.'s Orange Park office, was honored with the Platinum Producer, Top 5% Award.

-- Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida recognized employee Mainor Andrews and Jacksonville Jaguars player Renaldo Wynn as recipients of the 2001 Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida Community Champion Awards.

CONTRACTS

-- Ervin, Lovett & Miller, a Jacksonville-based architectural, planning and landscape firm has been awarded four major contracts to design facilities in the Jacksonville area, St. Augustine and Tampa worth more than $4 million.

-- Dixie Contract Carpet Inc. has been awarded contracts to provide floor covering for the following: 89,200 square feet for Jacksonville Job Corps. facility; and 3,465 square feet for First National Bank, Orange Park.

DONATIONS

-- Winn-Dixie presented a check for $100,000 to the North Florida Council of the Boy Scouts of America.

BUILDING/DESIGN

-- Edwards Construction Services Inc. was awarded the design-build services for Accuform Signs in Brooksville. The $2.7 million, 60,000-square-foot tilt-wall project includes 18,500 square feet of offices designated for administrative, sales, training center and graphic design space. The remaining 41,500 square feet of air-conditioned warehouse space will be used for production, inventory control, shipping and receiving.

-- Bonar Engineering & Construction, a local design/build company, has been contracted for the refrigeration conversion of Spartan Stores Inc.'s 40,000-square-foot distribution center in Grand Rapids, Mich.

NEW VENTURES

-- The Utility Contractors of North Florida Inc. announced that it has retained the services of The McCormick Agency to assist with public relations.

-- Grenadier, Howard & Associates P.A. announced it has become a member of the Financial Consulting Group.

-- Tree of Life Inc. finalized acquisition of Better Than Milk, a division of Fuller Life Inc. …
