CoC Event to Be Held at Martin Luther King Jr. Historical Site
Becker, Christine, Nation's Cities Weekly
NLC leaders will convene a special event at the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site during the 2001 Congress of Cities to focus on NLC's ongoing agenda to ensure race equality. The gathering on Friday afternoon, December 7, will provide both an opportunity to visit this important landmark in the American civil rights movement and to once again renew city leaders' commitment to ensuring race equality.
The 2001 Congress of Cities will get underway in Atlanta on Tuesday, December 4, in conjunction with the launch of the torch run for the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City and conclude on Saturday, December 8, with the annual business meeting and a host city sponsored closing event. In between, the conference will offer Leadership Training Institute seminars on Tuesday and Wednesday, committee meetings on Wednesday and general sessions and workshops on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

NLC's delegates will gather in that building for this special event during the Congress of Cities.
