Pittsburgh Training Program Hosts U.K. Delegation. (Front and Center)
In December, a group of businessmen, educators, union representatives and investors from the United Kingdom visited the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) complex in Pittsburgh, Pa. The building, located at 5 Hot Metal Street, houses the $4 million Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee (JATC) facility. The U.K. delegation came to study ways to duplicate the state-of-the-art facility and learn about its degree-based curriculum. They also hope to establish a student exchange program with Pittsburgh.
The $4.6 million annual training budget gives apprentices at the facility hands-on skills training, and each student attends the program free of charge. Through ā¦
