Cinema Evaluation Board Rates First Movie
THE newly created Cinema Evaluation Board under the aegis of the Film Development Council of the Philippines watched the screening of director Maryo J. de los Reyes Magnifico produced by Violet Films.
The board gave it a B rating which qualifies it for a 65 percent tax incentive. The movie was received well by the board of judges and though not without flaws, was deemed by the board to be a refreshing movie, a wonderful story about a little boy whose goodness touches and transforms lives around him. The boy comes from a poor, hard working family but that does not prevent him from being helpful, creative and generous. Parents should bring their children to see this movie because it is a good one. Nothing of the usual run-of-the-mill skin and quasi-bomba films that are exploitative and pointless.
