MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - Fifth-ranked West Virginia broke loose for 599 total yards and coasted to a 48-7 victory over East Carolina Saturday at Milan Puskar Stadium.
Quarterback Pat White ran for two touchdowns, and threw a pair of scoring passes to wideout Darius Reynaud, as the Mountaineers (4-0) won their 11th straight non-conference game.
WVU featured back Steve Slaton, who was held to 80 yards on 24 carries last season at East Carolina, rushed for 114 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries before sitting out the fourth quarter.
In only his 24th career start, Slaton tied the West Virginia career touchdown mark of 42 with Ira Errett Rodgers (1915-19) and Avon ā¦
