After an initial round of difficult discussion about how to manage the Boone County Fairgrounds, the Boone County Commission now is on firm ground. It has hired a well recommended consultant at reasonable cost to outline options.

The issue is not simple. The large property has been mainly used for the annual fair. The fair board has by default been left in charge of operating the facility the rest of the year, renting the building and grounds when possible and footing the costs of maintenance and improvement.
