A temporary job eventually evolved into business ownership for former schoolteacher Val Schoeneberg, who recently purchased Ann's Teachers Store at 1004 W. Worley St. from founder Ann Cleek.
Schoeneberg graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1998 with a degree in elementary education and taught first grade for Columbia Public Schools. To earn money for college, she took a part-time job with Cleek and in July 2000 decided to make it a full- time career.
"It's been a natural progression for me," Schoeneberg said about buying the store, which sells an array of school supplies, educational toys and games.
