New Math Methods Are Worth the Effort

Should we continue offering our children the same mathematics education we received? If so, we'll likely get the same result - a small percentage of students will leave schools interested in continuing to pursue the study of mathematics. Most will express dislike for mathematics, see it as irrelevant and choose careers and college majors that call for little mathematics. Instead, I think we should offer our students a different, better mathematics education, and I support Columbia Public Schools for working hard to offer such a program.
