Leigh Goodson has made a career of helping others solve problems. I truly enjoy assisting others in finding solutions to what appear to be insurmountable obstacles. As an involved student at Oklahoma State University, I honed my problem-solving skills in both paid and volunteer positions, Goodson said.
When asked what drives her passion for working in higher education, Goodson points to the value of the college experience itself and her desire to ensure others have an opportunity to experience it.
I want to be part of the community that brings education to others - a clear mission of the land grant institution.
Goodson started her career as an admissions counselor, moving up the ladder to academic adviser, director of medical school admissions and dean of students before being named to her current position as vice president of enrollment management and marketing for the Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences (OSU- CHS).
Each position in higher education has allowed me to help others overcome obstacles to their educational goals, she said.
