It's a Huge Task but Saracens Can Rule at French Fortress, Says Castaignede

Mills, Simon, The Evening Standard (London, England)

THOMAS CASTAIGNEDE accepts Saracens have to pull off one of the biggest upsets in the history of the European Cup to reach the knockout stages of this season's competition.

They travel to face French champions Biarritz, who have overtaken Toulouse as the dominant force in Gallic rugby and won 17 of their 18 European ties at the Parc Des Sports Augilera.

Even with a full complement of players it would be tough enough.

Although lock Simon Raiwalui should return from injury, All Black flanker Taine Randell is unlikely to be fit tomorrow and Nicky Little is out after breaking his arm this week playing for the second team.

At least Saracens have beaten Biarritz this season - in an astonishing 22-10 win at Vicarage Road.

"Sometimes one win can change your season and that's what we're hoping," said Saracens centre Castaignede (left).

"Biarritz are the first team in the French League and that means a lot when you have Stade Francais, Toulouse and Bourgoin behind you, so we have a big challenge.
