I guess there's a time and a place for everything. Until a few months ago, I wouldn't have thought to pay much attention to children's clothes.
Then last spring, Diane von Furstenberg and GapKids launched a capsule collection. The collaboration was greatly hyped, and the retailer opened online shopping to card members two days before opening it to everyone else. Many of the biggest sizes -- in other words, the sizes an adult could fit into -- sold out the first day.
That same day, I noticed several Twitter posts from women who said they were shopping the collection for both their daughters and themselves.
