Today is the second and last day of the Budgerigar Society World Championship Show. More than 4,000 people have already flocked to the Doncaster Exhibition Centre - to join them call 01604 624549.
There is also one last opportunity to indulge any spooky fantasies lingering on from Hallowe'en, with Monday's lantern-lit tour of Hampton Court Palace (tel: 0181-781 9540). After-dark tales will be woven into a tour of the palace, with historical narrative merging into equally convincing ghost stories. Beginning at 5pm in the Tudor kitchen, the tour lasts an hour, priced at pounds 22 for those aged 12 and over.
