First you get your place and then you get your place to live. For students moving to the Midlands there is one plus point: rents may not be the cheapest in the country but they are considerably better than in the over-heated South-east.

And most universities and colleges will either guarantee a place in hall for first-year students, if they want one, or do their best to make sure they find you a place to live.
