Gary Stewart Regional Southwestern Bell Director


Gary Stewart has been named regional director responsible for all of Southwestern Bell Telephone Co.'s public telephone operations in Oklahoma.

He will be responsible for sales, repair, coin collection and specialty services like the Inmate Service offered to area correctional institutions. . . Beverly Couch, AT T material management supervisor, was elected Woman of the Year at the Jan. 17 meeting of the Al-Lu-We Chapter of American Business Women.

Selection is based on career accomplishments, American Business Women contributions and community involvement.

Couch has been a member of the chapter for 12 years and served as president in 1994. . . Regina Davidson has been named a bookkeeper and receptionist for Express Travel Service Inc.

She will be responsible for accounts receivable, accounts payable and all other accounting procedures, along with her duties as receptionist.

Lee J. Tyner has been named franchise service representative for Express Personnel Services International.

He is responsible for assisting, servicing and supporting Express offices worldwide with day-to-day operations. . . Several Oklahoma City-area certified public accountants have been accepted as members of the Oklahoma Society of Certified Public Accountants.

New members are: Paula C. Beehler, senior auditor of Price Waterhouse LLP; Jeanette S. Coker, tax accountant for Macklanburg-Duncan; Andrew L. Crawford, experienced staff auditor for Arthur Andersen Co.; Robert D. Crosthwait, owner of RSC Business Services; Kisuk Mitchell, accounting manager for Sonic Industries Inc.; Travis L. Ray, auditor for Ernst Young LLP; Erin L. Recknagle, accounting rotational trainee for Kerr-McGee Corp.; and Sheri D. Ritchie, accountant for United Insurance Companies.

Also, Danny A. Stewart, state accrediting officer for the State Accrediting Agency; Judy G. Wilkes, staff accountant for T.C. Burgin CPA PC; Kerri K. Wilson, supervisor for Hertz Corp.; Katherine L. Farrow, municipal accountant II for the City of Oklahoma City Accounting Department; and Alyson S. Morrison-Miller, director of accounting for Oklahoma Association of Realtors. . . Saundra L. Rutherford has been named administrative vice president of Aven Gas Oil Inc.

LeRoy Long, a director of the company, has been named vice president, production and discovery.

Rutherford was the company's first full-time employee in 1985. She was named to the board of directors in 1990 and became a manager of the firm the following year.

Long, a petroleum geologist, has been active in the industry for 18 years. He has assumed full-time responsibilities at the company since closing his Oklahoma City consulting office. . . Bill Vaughn and Jack Melton have been promoted to top management positions at North American Insurance Agency Inc.

Vaughn has been appointed senior corporate account executive and Melton as corporate account manager for the states of Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Missouri. They will operate from Houston and will be concentrating their efforts primarily on programs of coverage for schools and educational groups.
