iUniverse Offers E-Book Publishing Service, Announces Deal with Kluwer Academic Publishers

iUniverse, a digital publishing infrastructure provider, has announced the availability of on-demand e-book production to its authors. The company has also announced that Kluwer Academic Publishers, a leading publisher of scientific, technical, and medical (STM) books and journals, will use iUniverse's Publishing Commerce Platform to prepare, manage, distribute, and fulfill books with custom content in either print or e-book format for clients.
iUniverse's 8,500 individual authors, as well as all new authors, now have the option to produce their self-published titles in e-book form as well as in hard copy using print-on-demand. According to the announcement, this makes iUniverse the largest print-on-demand publisher of e-- books, and marks its commitment to leveraging the Internet and its unique publishing technology to allow authors to get published in whichever format they choose. Authors can submit their manuscripts online and choose the e-book and/or hard-copy option. Once published, the e-books are then made available for purchase in iUniverse's online bookstore and other select outlets.
