Know Your VP

Albert G. Gasior is in the third year of his term as ACTE vice president for Region I. He is the director of the Barre Technical Center in Barre, Vermont, and is also co-chair of the Central Vermont Workforce Investment Board.

In his 35 years of educational experience, Gasior has held the positions of industrial arts teacher, co-op coordinator, supervisor at the N.J. Department of Education, vice principal, principal and assistant director. He served three years in the U.S. Marine Corps as an officer, achieving the rank of captain, and he received a Certificate of Achievement from the Commanding General 1st Marine Aircraft Wing for his accomplishments as a civil affairs officer in Da Nang, Vietnam.

Gasior was an E.P.D.A. fellow and received an education specialist degree (Ed.S.) in vocational-technical administration from Rutgers-The State University of New Jersey. He also holds a B.A. in industrial arts and an M.A. in industrial education from the College of New Jersey. He is a former president of the Nu Chapter of Epsilon Pi Tau at Rutgers University and a recipient of the Laureate Citation.

Gasior has served ACTE as the New Jersey state association president as well as the state association president for Vermont. He has served as a member and board liaison for the nominating committee and board liaison to the audit review committee. Gasior was one of the two candidates nominated for ACTE president-elect for 2003.

Region I is composed of the following 16 state affiliates: Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Federal Department of Education, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont and West Virginia.
