This disc presents two rather radical rearrangements of popular works by Mozart -his Serenade in B-flat Major known as the "Gran Partita" (K. 361) and his String Quintet in G Minor (K. 516). Both arrangements date from shortly after Mozart's death. The first, an arrangement of the "Gran Partita" serenade for oboe, violin, viola, cello, and keyboard, is by Christoph Freidrich Gottlieb Schwencke (1767-1822); the second is a four-hand piano setting of
