Forward into Fall with Several Headquarters Staff Changes


Summer saw several transitions in the NCEA staff, with the departure of several senior members and the hiring, promotion or reassignment of several others.

Several new positions were created as a result of a management study conducted in response to the strategic plan drafted during the NCEA centennial in 2004.

A new position of chief operating officer was created to provide management and oversight to support the association. David Dudik began in that new role in August. He came to NCEA with a wide background in management, financial analysis and strategic planning, most recently with Exxon Mobil Corporation and the American Red Cross. He holds a B.S. degree in business administration from DePaul University and an M.B.A. from Monmuth University.

Wade Marshall, director of NCEA Member and Information Services since 2002, was promoted to a new position of associate chief operating officer. He will retain most of his prior responsibilities and, in addition, will oversee a new Office of Events. Marshall began his association with NCEA in 1986 as the local area network administrator for the Association of Catholic Colleges and Universities when that organization was a department of NCEA. He holds an M.S. in information systems from Strayer University.

Recruitment is underway for a replacement for his former database management responsibilities.

The former position of convention director was re-designated as director of events. The Events Office now has expanded responsibilities for the NCEA annual convention and will supervise and coordinate strategic, operational and logistical activities for large departmental meetings. Daniel Baczkowski, who was administrative assistant for the Department of Chief Administrators of Catholic Education since 2001, began in the new position in June.

Baczkowski has experience in the areas of hotel management, customer service, the food and beverage profession and teaching. He holds a bachelor of arts degree in philosophy and a master of divinity degree.

Robert Brancatelli joined the Department of Religious Education as assistant executive director. He came from Santa Clara University, Santa Clara, California, where he had been an assistant professor since 2001.
