Ang Lee moves from the western genre to the martial arts genre with this beautifully crafted film set at the end of the nineteenth century, spanning the length and breadth of China. The slightly convoluted story opens with Li Mu Bai (Chow Yun Fat), a disillusioned warrior monk entrusting his sword, the fabled Green Destiny to Shu Lien (Michelle Yeoh). He asks her to present the sword to Sir Te, her father's friend. Jen (Zhang Ziyi) the rebellious daughter of an important nobleman who Is a guest of Sir Te's steals the sword as a mischievous ā¦
