DECLINE IN EXPORT COMPANIES' REVENUE
Profits among Korea's leading exporters have been shrinking. The operating profit ratio of export firms selling more than half of their products abroad slid from about 10 percent in 2010 to 9.4 percent in the first half of 2011, and then to 7.27 percent in the third quarter. The cause for this decline is an overall lowering of the won/ dollar exchange rate, and slow economic growth around the world. These factors have stalled what might otherwise be a robust rebound for Korean exporters in the wake of the 2008 global financial crisis. ā¦
