Evelyn Jacks

president of the Knowledge Bureau, has added two new distinctions this year: She was recently ranked one of Canada's Top 25 Women of Influence for the second year and she is the Manitoba Club's second female president in its 77-year history. "It's a real honour to be recognized," said Jacks, "and especially gratifying to build a national educational institute focused on the highest standards in tax-efficient family-wealth management with a brilliant team of contributors. Our passion has been to help professional advisers meet the needs of their clients in a volatile financial climate."

Patricia Lane

a managing partner with Taylor McCaffrey LLP, Barristers and Solicitors, recently received a prestigious national award for women in the legal profession. Lexpert's Zenith 2013 Awards: Celebrating Women Leaders in the Legal Profession is presented to honour female lawyers who have led their clients, firms, companies, departments, faculties, profession, colleagues and/or communities, and who have been role models for other women in the profession. Lane practises family law.

The International Association of Business Communicators

Manitoba chapter would like to congratulate Karen Viveiros, Stacey Erlendson, and Monique LaCoste on obtaining the designation Accredited Business Communicator (ABC). The ABC accreditation is the the global standard of professional achievement for organizational communication practitioners.

Steven Raber

has been appointed to the Canada Subcommittee of the Anticounterfeiting Committee of the International Trademark Association for the 2014-15 committee term. This committee focuses its attention on combating the counterfeiting of goods in Canada. Raber will continue as a member of INTA's Trademark Mediators Network.

Diane Lambert Shack

is the new director, major gifts and planned giving, at Misericordia Health Centre Foundation. She will lead the fundraising strategy for all major and planned gifts, as well as securing the final gifts of Misericordia's current capital campaign. Shack has a broad fundraising, marketing, communications and public relations background, having worked at the Lung Association of Manitoba, St. Boniface Hospital Foundation, DASCH Foundation, The Nature Conservancy of Canada, and most recently at Macdonald Youth Services.

Vernelle Mirosh

is the new fund-development officer, special events at Misericordia Health Centre Foundation.
