Information Sheet for Advisors

ENGLISH DEPARTMENT: PORTFOLIO/ ADVISEMENT PLAN

Timeline
Students will begin their portfolios at the time that they declare an English Major and begin to take courses as part of that major. The portfolio must be completed prior to graduation.
Requirements
A completed Portfolio will contain the following:
A. an Entry Paper;
B. four papers written over a period of at least two years; (two papers from Part I of the Major, and two from Part II);
C. brief (approximately one-page) critiques of each of the four papers;
D. an Exit paper;
E. a Checksheet signed by the advisor attesting to the completion of the project.
Description of Requirements
A. Entry Paper. Each student will write a paper of no-less-than-one or more- than-three page(s) exploring one or more of the following questions:
