IMPLEMENTING THE SELF-MANAGEMENT PROGRAM
Carrying out a successful school- or district-wide self-management program requires detailed planning and careful supervision. This chapter illustrates how they can be performed. 1
ANALYSIS OF IMPLEMENTATION PLANNING
An implementation plan is five distinct but interactive plans. The curriculum development plan identifies the personnel, location, and time frame for planning the SM curriculum illustrated in Chapter 20. The curriculum utilization plan determines how the constructed curriculum will be put into operation. Because of limited resources, implementation is often done in stages, taking up to several years to carry out the program across the entire school district at any one grade level. With each year there is an expansion of the program.The teacher training plan builds the behavior needed to teach and administer the SM curriculum. It answers seven questions:
Who can do the training?
Who will be trained?
Which skills will they need to be trained in?
How will they be trained in each area?
When will they be trained?
How long will they be trained?
Where will they be trained?
