HEROD¶ The clouds clapped in clearness that their climates
encloses,
Jupiter and Jovis, Martis et Mercurii amid,
Raking over my royalty on row me'rejoices
Blustering their blasts, to blow when I bid.
Saturn my subject, that subtly is hid,
I list at my liking, and lay him full low.
The wrack of the red sky full rapidly I rid;
Thunders of my thralls by thousands I throw
When me likes.
His voice to me Venus did owe,
That princes to play in him picks.
The prince of the planets that proudly is pight
Shall brace forth his beams that our shelter shall know;
The moon at my might, he musters his might,
And kaisers in castles great kindness me show.
Lords and ladies as lovers list, lo,
For I am fairer of face and fresher, I hold,
