They called them the Junction Boys. They were about as unimposing and lackluster a bunch of ragamuffins as you'd ever hope to see on a college football squad. Yet they become the pride of Coach Paul (Bear) Bryant. Whenever the Bear discussed his teams, in an illustrious career that spanned tenures at Maryland, Kentucky, Texas A&M and Alabama, he always held up his Texas Aggie teams of 1954, 1955 and 1956 as his favorites.
