The pages of the six volumes of the Ecclesiastical Records of the State of New York are numbered consecutively, and therefore the successive volumes are not referred to in this index. The following table, however, is given to indicate the years and pages of each volume.

In the longer articles dates are added to facilitate the finding of the item desired. Dates are also attached to certain names, to distinguish persons of the same name but of different generations. The meaning of the few abbreviations which have been used will be obvious. S. P. G. refers to the English missionary "Society for the Propagation of the Gospel."
