Volume 1
This is volume 1 of Development and Structure of the Body Image. It contains a detailed review and analysis of the body image literature from 1969 through 1985. Volume 2 provides an overview of the extensive work that has been done to appraise a number of my major theoretical concepts concerning body image functioning. It deals with such topics as the organization of the body image boundary, assignment of meaning to specific body areas, general body awareness, and distortions in body perception. The bibliography and indexes for the two volumes are contained in volume 2.
