ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Scott Derrick is currently an associate of English at Rice University, specializing in nineteenth-century American literature. He was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, in 1953, received his Ph. D. in English from the University of Pennsylvania in 1987, and has also taught at George Mason University and Brandeis.
