Harold D. Guither is a professor of agricultural policy, emeritus, at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He has taught courses in the economic history of agriculture and agricultural policy, organized state and national extension programs on agricultural and food policy issues, and conducted research on other public policy matters. During his thirty-nine years on the university faculty, he also served two years on a USAID assignment in Jordan and worked as a staff member in the US House of Representatives and in the US Department of Agriculture.
