There is one complete copy of the customs of Ogbourne St. George in MS. Add.
28-3IV. [29-32V.], printed here (E). A partial copy of an earlier version (A) survives on the
mutilated first membrane of King's College, Dd 33; the whole of the first part has been torn away.

Iohannes Butery tenet unam virgatam terre unde debet singulis annis ad
Hockeday quindecim denarios de gabulo bosci, et debet in qualibet operabili ebdo-
mada per tres dies unam mensuram bladi triturare, scilicet a festo sancti Michaelis
usque ad festum beati Petri ad Vincula, vel aliud quodcunque opus dominus voluerit
facere. Et debet singulis annis in yeme quandocumque fuerit vocatus arare unam
beneriam et herciare totam aruram benerie cum cibo domini; item aliam beneriam
in quadragesima et habere corredium. Item debet quandocunque vocatus fuerit
herciare usque ad horam nonam sine cibo, et si per totum diem herciaverit habebit
corredium. Item debet ad festum sancti Martini arare tres acras et herciare sine
cibo et debet circa festum sancti Iohannis Baptiste warettare tres acras pro herbagio
et sine cibo. Item debet contra Natale domini unum 'quarterium brasii parare et
percipere ad illud siccandum onus faraginis vel busce, et die qua siccat erit quietus
de alio opere. Item omni eodem modo contra Pascha. Et si contingat quod aliquis
dominus Beccum per hoc manerium itineraverit et defectum habuerit equitature vel
armigeri, debet cum ipso equitare et pannos suos deferre per unam dietam, scilicet
per triginta leucas et de duobus operibus interim esse quietus. Et debet propter
corredium dominorum suorum ad villas mercatas 1 vicinas si opus fuerit ire et non
habere corredium nisi de voluntate dominorum. Item debet lavare oves et tondere
cum agnis et percipere debet una cum aliis virgatariis caseum unius diei post plenam
tonsionem. Item debet sarclare per unum them usque ad horam nonam sine cibo,
et si per diem integrum habebit cibum. Item debet falcare pratum domini usque
ad plenam falcacionem, fena levare et cariare et habere multonem, et per totam
ebdomadam falcacionis quietus esse debet de aliis operibus. Item debet a die sancti
Petri ad Vincula per totum autumpnum continue cotidie metere dimidiam acram
vel alia opera equivalencia loco messure facere. Item debet ad duas precaries cum
tribus hominibus metere, et ipse in propria persona interesse et videre quod bene
operentur, et habere semel corredium, scilicet panem integrum de frumento et
cervisiam ad potandum et unum ferculum carnis vel piscis vel allec' et sero cervisiam
ad potandum. Item debet per aliquos dies si opus fuerit de gracia metere cum uno
homine et habere corredium. Item diebus quibus metit debet cariare tres quadri-
