Participate in Your Own Experience

Miki's favorite restaurant was the Green Glen, a popular sandwich and salad place. One night, when she and her father were walking the dog, they noticed a Help Wanted sign hanging on the window. Miki balked at first when he suggested she apply for the job, but she eventually figured it wouldn't kill her to put away a few dollars for college. And she liked the idea of having her own money too. Even so, she was surprised when she was hired despite having no experience. Still, as soon as she was assigned her own sections, she informed her parents and her stepparents they were not to show up during her shifts -- unless they were prepared to leave outrageous tips.
