CATALOGUE OF TWENTIETH CENTURY GERMAN ART AT HARVARD UNIVERSITY

The works in this catalogue are divided into the following categories: Sculpture, Paintings and Drawings, Graphic Art, Illustrated Books. Within the first three categories, the artists are listed alphabetically and an attempt has been made to arrange their works in chronological order. Where exact dates are given, they indicate that the object itself is dated, or that there is documentary evidence for the date. In the section devoted to Paintings and Drawings, watercolors have been listed with drawings rather than with oils, following the curatorial divisions of the Fogg Museum and the Busch-Reisinger Museum.

Dimensions are in inches to the nearest one-eighth inch. Height precedes width. In the case of sculpture, only the height is given, unless the work is a relief. The following abbreviations are used:

BRM Busch-Reisinger Museum of Germanic Culture.
FM Fogg Art Museum.
HCL Harvard College Library.
