Esteemed Friend London 6 July 1758

Our C Hanbury has wrote Thee by sundry opportunitie's advising the Death of our dear Relation & Partner J Hanbury, that we continue the Business and hope for Continuance of thy Friendship and Consignments. Inclos'd we have sent the Sales of thy hhds Tobo p the King of Prussia, hope they will meet with thy approbation. We were assured by sundry Persons that the Tobo sent to Cary was better than that Sent us. Herewith comes thy Books wch wish Safe & to thy satisfaction. Dunbar has not said anything to us about the Law affair, nor have we anything to Communicate relative thereto, when we have shall embrace the first opportunity to advise thereof. We are very sorry to inform our Friends that the Anna was taken the 13th Ulto by a Bayone Privateer of 18 guns and 142 men and after being in her possession 7 days was luckily retaken by 3 Privateers Belonging to Bristol and Carried into Falmouth. 1 We are taking the necessary Steps to adjust the Salvage and get the ship and Cargo into our own Possession that no Care may be wanting to make the most of our Friends Tobo. We have no Letters by the Anna owing to the Privateers People all papers and everything Else out of the Cabbin whether they are destroy'd or not we cannot yet learn, as soon as the Salvage is adjusted shall advise Thee, as also The State of the Insurance. We hope for a continuance of thy Friendship and Consignments and we assure Thee That no endeavours Shall be wanting to Conduct Business so as to meet wth approbation.
