Founded in 1943, AEI is a nonpartisan, nonprofit,
research and educational organization based in Washington, D.C. The Institute sponsors research,
conducts seminars and conferences, and publishes
books and periodicals.AEI's research is carried out under three major
programs: Economic Policy Studies; Foreign Policy and
National Security Studies; and Social and Political
Studies. The resident scholars and fellows listed in these
pages are part of a network that also includes ninety
