Re-established following the Cultural Revolution in September 1981. In September 1987 it
was absorbed by the Supreme People's Court.

M 4. SUPREME PEOPLE'S PROCURACY

Infrequent references to this organization between 1968 and 1975 were noted. After
January 1975 the organization was abolished with its functions being taken over by the
ministry of Public Security. In March 1978 it was restored, and after that time, provincial
procurates were re-established.
