The tonnage given here is 'buil-
ders' old measurement'; tonnage
by displacement would increase
the figures given by one-half to
two-thirds. Thus the Duke of
Wellington displaced 6,070 tons.
The horse-power rating is nom-
inal. Another list of details is to
be found in Clowes, vi. 199. His
figures do not always correspond
with these. Clowes notes that
several of the British ships of
the line execeeded 10 knots, the
Orion achieving 12.5 knots, only
a knot less than the renowed
Napoléon.
