James Arnt Aune, Beyond PC: The Ethics of Classroom Controversy

James Arnt Aune is Associate Professor of Communication at
the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. He received his
B.A. from St. Olaf College and his M.A. and Ph.D. from Northwestern
University. He has taught at St. Olaf College, Tulane University, and
the University of Virginia. He teaches courses in argumentation, legal
communication, and the history of rhetoric. Aune is the author of
several articles on rhetorical theory and a book, Rhetoric and Marxism
( Boulder, CO: Westview Press, 1994).

Paul R. Boehlke, Integrating Ethics into Introductory Biology

Paul R. Boehlke received his Ph.D. from the University of
Iowa. He is a Professor of Biology at Martin Luther College in New
Ulm, Minnesota, teaching general biology, anatomy and physiology.
Recent articles include "Sexuality and Sexual Ethics" and "Sexually
Transmitted Diseases" in an encyclopedia to be published by Salem
Press in 1994. His educational efforts in health and safety have
received awards from the governor of Minnesota ( 1989) and The
American Association for the Advancement of Science ( 1993).

Richard Doctor, Moral Literacy: Integrating Ethics and Freshman
English

Richard Doctor completed his undergraduate work at Wheaton
College, Illinois, received his Master's degree in English literature from
the University of Illinois at Chicago, and has done additional graduate
studies at Governors State University, Illinois, Grand Valley State
University, Michigan, and Western Michigan University, Michigan. He
teaches composition and literature at Muskegon Community College,
Michigan. Doctor is active in the Michigan Liberal Arts Network for
Development, and has been a leader in the state's community college
general education reform movement.
