The data obtainable with these approaches, electrophysiological and
clinical and also from performance studies using RH-mediated tasks after
REM awakenings ( Bertini, Violani, Zoccolotti, Antonelli, & Di Stefano,
1983; Gordon, Frooman, & Lavie, 1982) though not always consistent as to
the sides predominantly involved in dream production, provide stimulating
openings in the attempt to understand the neurobiological bases of dream-
ing.
