The frontispiece is a copperplate engraving from Perspective, das ist die weit-
beruembte khunst . . . ans licht bracht durch Johan Vredman Frijsen. The Latin edition
was published in two parts in 1604 and 1605. The illustration on the facing
page shows a group of caryatids, an engraving by Hans Vredeman de Vries.
