| | CHECK LIST OF PLAYS The First Folio ( 1647) of Beaumont and Fletcher includes thirty-three plays and, in addition, Four Plays in One and Beaumont Masque which are not dealt with in this study. Of these plays, all previously unpublished, at least twenty- eight belonged to the King's Company. Six years before they had refused to permit publication of their Beaumont and Fletcher manuscripts, but times were unusually hard for actors in 1647. This group of plays, collected by James Shirley, does not, however, fairly represent Beaumont and Fletcher. The Second Folio ( 1679) is far more complete. It contains fifty plays, and also Four Plays in One, Beaumont Masque and Shirley The Coronation. I have included in the list three plays not found in the Second Folio -- Henry VIII, Sir John Van Olden Barnavelt, and A Very Woman -- since Fletcher is generally believed to have had some share in them. This list, drawn largely from Alfred Harbage invaluable Annals of English Drama, makes no pretence to be bibliographically exhaustive or original. I have arranged the plays in alphabetical order, followed by accepted or approximate date(s) of composition in parentheses, date of first publication, and presumed or known authorship. The letters B, F, and M designate Beaumont, Fletcher, and Massinger. | | Barnavelt, Sir John Van Olden, ( 1619), 1883, F and M. | | | Beggars Bush, ( 1615-22), 1647F, F and M. | | | The Bloody Brother, ( 1616-24), 1639Q, F (M?
