In the two concluding chapters, I will tell you about the current scientific and legal status of acupuncture in the United States. I will discuss the preventive advantages of using acupuncture as an alternative treatment and demonstrate its cost-effectiveness. I will then advise you how to go about adding acupuncture to your general health management program.
Throughout this book I have tried to avoid using technical jargon and to explain terms and specialized vocabulary as they appear. At the end of each chapter I have included sources for the material covered. These books and articles can serve as a guide to further reading. A bibliography provides a list of readily available works that will allow the interested reader to explore in greater detail all the topics I've introduced. An appendix lists associations that can help you select your own acupuncturist.
